MEET THE COACHES
Jason Gwyn is the Head Coach of the Hebron Hawks Varsity Softball Team and he brings a wealth of knowledge to the program. Coach Gwyn has experience coaching at many different levels of the game, including the international and collegiate levels. His past experience includes a stint as the Head Coach for the Austrian National Junior Olympic Softball Team, an Assistant Coach at Texas Women's University, and a Graduate Assistant Coach at The University of Texas at Austin.
In addition to his coaching position with Hebron, Coach Gwynn serves as the President and Co-Founder of Mizuno Impulse Softball, Inc., a nationally recognized travel ball organization based out of the Dallas - Fort Worth Area. He also coaches the the organizations' Gold Team. Coach Gwynn is a certified teacher in history, physical education, and health. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a Minor in Psychology from Texas Tech University and Master's Degree in Sports Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
Terry Drain is in his fourth year as the Assistant Coach of the Hebron Hawks Varsity Softball Team. He brings a lot of experience to the program, as he is in his 19th year of teaching and coaching. Coach Drain has coached at many different levels, including select travel ball where he was the Head Coach of an American Freedom 16U team. Before coming to Hebron, Coach Drain taught and coached at several schools in the metroplex. The majority of his coaching years prior to Hebron were spent as the Assistant Varsity and then Head Softball Coach at McKinney High School.
Coach Drain holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education from Northeastern State University and a Master of Education in Administrative Leadership from Lamar University. He teaches Psychology, and in addition to his coaching position in the softball program, Coach Drain coaches girls basketball at Hebron. Coach Drain and his wife have been married for 24 years and have a 19 year old daughter, Hannah.
Coach Bell is in his first year at Hebron High School as an assistant softball coach. He is a graduate of Gatesville High School. He attended Texas Tech University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences. He is currently working on a Masters Degree in Sports Administration.
Coach Bell has eight years of coaching and teaching experience. He has Coached in Lamesa ISD, Lubbock ISD, and Lewisville ISD. Upon arrival to the Lewisville ISD, Coach Bell transitioned to the girls' side of athletics.
In addition to his duties as an assistant softball coach, Coach Bell serves as an assistant basketball coach, where he leads the freshman team. He is very excited to be at Hebron High School and is looking forward to spending some time on the diamond.
Coach Bell and his wife, Marissa, have two children. Zebedee is a Sophomore Hebron High School, and Zaiden is a 4th grader at Indian Creek Elementary.
